It all began with a commission for the inauguration of the National Museum of Beirut in Lebanon.
“The museum was looking for a gift to offer the president of the museum association for the 1999 opening. I painted a porcelain ashtray inspired by one of the three thousand statues on display – and everyone loved it!”
“Commissions followed,” says Chrystel, who has spent the last twenty years dipping her brushes into pigment pots and letting them glide across porcelain.
“You’ll never find two identical pieces – I don’t like to repeat myself!”
From one dinner set to the next, Chrystel’s talent as both a painter and illustrator shines through in every bespoke creation.
